本種は台湾のイネ科から採集された標本を基に記載された。関東地方から鹿児島まで広く分布し、香港からも記録されている。寄主植物はイネ科でPhibalothrips peringueyiと共にチヂミザサに普通に見られる。

This species was described based on the specimens collected from Poaceae in Taiwan. It is widely distribued from the Kanto-region to Kagoshima and is also recorded from Hong-kong. Its host plant is Poaceae and it is commonly found on Oplismenus undulatifolius together with Phibalothrips peringueyi.
